Ownership and funding

Who owns Sox News, how it is funded, and what that means for editorial control.

Last reviewed 2026-08-08

The publisher

Sox News is published by Sox Media LLC, a privately held Nevada limited liability company funded by private capital.

Statutory company information is filed with the Nevada Secretary of State.

Sox News is the publication. Sox Media LLC is the company that publishes it. Editorial output, commercial activity and company administration all sit inside that single legal entity, and the company carries legal responsibility for what is published.

Ownership disclosure and privacy

Sox Media LLC is privately held. The company discloses its ownership at entity level: the jurisdiction of incorporation, the legal form and the private character of the funding. It does not publish the identity of its individual beneficial owner.

Readers are entitled to know who stands behind the journalism and whether any outside interest can shape it. That question is answered by the control statement below, which is the part that affects what appears on the page.

Nobody controls the copy

No government, political party, foreign state, advertiser, sponsor, donor network, union, advocacy organisation or think tank controls editorial decisions at Sox News.

Editorial decisions at Sox News are made by the Sox News Editorial Desk under the standards published on this site. No outside party receives copy before publication, sees an unpublished story, approves a headline or holds a veto. There is no arrangement of any kind, paid or unpaid, that grants review rights over editorial content.

Sox News states its convictions openly on the About page. Holding a declared position is a matter of editorial character. Taking instruction from an interested party is a matter of editorial capture, and Sox News does not do it.

How the journalism is paid for

Funding model: private capital, with reader supported products and clearly labelled commercial arrangements where they exist.

  • No political party, campaign committee, government body or state broadcaster funds Sox News.
  • No foreign state, sovereign fund or state linked entity funds Sox News.
  • No think tank, advocacy group, union or donor network funds Sox News.
  • Sox News accepts no grants tied to coverage of a subject, an outcome or a policy position.

Any advertising or sponsorship that begins is disclosed under the advertising and sponsorship policy, labelled on the page, and kept away from editorial judgement.

Certification

Sox News holds no third party press certification, accreditation or audit at this time. Nothing on this site should be read as an independent endorsement of these standards.

Sox News intends to apply for the recognised trust and accountability programmes appropriate to its size. Any award, certification or audit will be named here, dated, and linked to the assessing body, so a reader can verify it independently. Until that happens, these standards stand on their own terms.
