Why Sox News exists
The Anglosphere inherited a set of institutions that made freedom and prosperity possible. Common law. Secure property. Open markets. Representative government. A press free to embarrass the powerful. None of them were perfect and none of them were ever finished, but they worked well enough that much of the world copied them.
Many of those institutions are now weaker, slower and less confident than they were. Building anything takes longer than it used to. Public spending rises while public capability falls. Argument is increasingly treated as a threat rather than as the method by which free countries correct themselves.
Sox News exists to examine what works, to expose what prevents progress, and to make the case for renewal. We cover the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia on one front page, because the questions facing all three are the same questions.
What we believe
We are pro capitalism, pro freedom, pro democracy and pro growth. We are for abundant energy, including nuclear. We are for personal agency over your own health. We think government should be limited, and that every expansion of state power should have to justify itself. We regard socialism and communism as failed systems, and we say so without euphemism.
We state these convictions rather than smuggle them in. A reader who knows where a publication stands can weigh its reporting properly. We hold them calmly, we argue for them with evidence, and we expect to be judged on both.

Where our loyalty sits
Our loyalty runs to readers, to evidence, and to the principles set out on this page. We are not aligned with a political party, a campaign or a government, and we do not adjust a conclusion to suit one. Agreeing with a politician on Monday commits us to nothing on Tuesday.
When the evidence goes against a position we have taken, we say so and we correct the record. That is the whole basis on which a reader can trust anything else we print.
The Sox Doctrine

Capitalism is moral.
Voluntary exchange, property and profit are civilisational goods. They produced the prosperity most of the world now takes for granted.

We name failures plainly.
Socialism and communism failed morally and empirically. We say so without euphemism and without a sneer.

Limited government is the default.
Every expansion of state power carries the burden of proof. “It might help” is not evidence.

Your body is your own.
Health freedom, metabolic fitness and longevity science sit beside our markets coverage, because agency does not stop at your wallet.

Competence is a public virtue.
Institutions should work, infrastructure should endure, and the built world should express confidence, ambition and care.

Energy is civilisation.
Cheap, abundant, reliable power, emphatically including nuclear, is the physical foundation of freedom and prosperity. We are for it without apology.
